I am a consultant surgeon specialising in all aspects of breast cancer surgery within the Heart of England NHS Trust. I understand the personal stress imposed upon patients who suspect they have the disease and therefore I have developed a fast track clinic process that enables me to see my patients and undertake appropriate investigations on the same day. Patients need only return for the histology results. My specific breast cancer surgical skills include sentinel node biopsy, axillary node clearance, wide local excision and mastectomies. I am also skilled in skin sparing mastectomy and various axillary surgeries when working with breast reconstruction plastic surgery colleagues. I have more than 30 years’ experience in general surgery. This involved extensive experience in urology, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, vascular surgery paediatric and endocrine surgery. My general surgery specialism is all types of hernia repair, including a significant number of incisional herniae.
