Hi, my name is Helena and I am a person-centred counsellor. The basis of my work is that everyone has their own individual experience of their life events making each person unique.I have worked with people from all walks of life, some people had particular goals they had formed and wanted help achieving them. For others that I have worked with, they were people struggling because of early experiences, traumatic events and were trying to make sense of their world on a day-to-day basis.I’m experienced in helping people to overcome anxiety, depression, stress and frustration. I’ve worked in NHS crisis settings with people experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings, so know how to stay calm under pressure. I’m interested in you as a person and not at all interested in numbers, statistics or ‘rate your mood on a scale of one to ten’ type interventions. I hope to come across as friendly and engaging, so if this is your first experience of counselling, I aim to make it easy for you – or as easy as it can be, at least to begin with. I’m passionate about many things, including philosophy, politics, society and the environment but in my consulting room, you are my priority. If you choose to work with me, the privilege will be mine. It’s understandable that the coronavirus will be at the forefront of our minds, with 24-hour news coverage and never-ending social media updates. For many, however, the coronavirus does not replace existing concerns but rather adds to them and can make them worse. If you’re reading this now, I imagine this is something to which you can relate. I'm not going anywhere for the foreseeable future! Why not send me a message and take up my offer of a free consultation? Remember, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
