With a background in the arts, she is particularly sensitive to the creative process, and welcomes a range of creative professionals, freelancers, and executives to her practice.Dr. Berlin takes a holistic approach to therapy, focused on maximizing your mental health and well-being. She incorporates mindfulness and humanistic approaches with cognitive behavioral therapy, including exposure-response prevention. She helps clients better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can make targeted change. By combining evidence-based therapy with her deep understanding of the brain and its mechanism, she gives clients a unique, comprehensive perspective. In the first few sessions she will get to know you and your goals. Then together you will map out a personalized treatment plan. As you explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, Dr. Berlin will also help you discover some of the unconscious drives that influence you behind-the-scenes. This will allow you to understand yourself better and achieve your goals more effectively.Dr. Berlin is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she has conducted clinical research for almost two decades. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Oxford, and Master of Public Health from Harvard University. She completed a NIMH post-doctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai and trained in clinical neuropsychology at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Department of Neurological Surgery. Message to clientsOne of the most important parts of therapy is the connection between therapist and client. I work to build trust, so my clients feel safe and fully seen and heard without judgement. I am driven by the belief that change is always possible. Working with me involves working together at your own pace to overcome obstacles and attain peace and balance in your life. You have the power to change your brain by altering your thoughts and behaviors. I am here to help you navigate that process with compassion and empathy so you can reach your full potential. I look forward to beginning the journey of self-knowledge, self-improvement, and self-empowerment together.
