About Dr. Gustavo BarrazuetaGustavo Barrazueta, M.S., M.D. is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery. A Florida native, Dr. Barrazueta attended the University of Florida on a full academic scholarship and graduated with honors. He then obtained a Masters of Science with a concentration in Molecular Medicine from the University of South Florida School of Medicine. Driven by his passion for medicine and commitment to top-notch patient care, he earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Barrazueta completed an orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, MA where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Barrazueta’s dedication to excellence led him to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. Dr. Barrazueta has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, published instructional surgical videos, and given multiple talks in the field of upper extremity surgery and orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Barrazueta is also fluent in Spanish and enjoys taking care of Spanish-speaking patients and being involved with the Hispanic community. Dr. Barrazueta is a community-focused healthcare provider who brings his passion and expertise care to the people of Phoenix metro area. Dr. Barrazueta lives in Scottsdale with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
