George Fayad has been the Governor of the International College of Surgeons since his election to the position on 4th December 2008. He has been a consultant Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon since 1996. Mr Fayad completed his general medical training in Belgium and France before completing extensive specialist further training in Oto-Rhino-Laryngology in Europe and in the United States. Mr Fayad is a recognised leader in the development of ground breaking surgical techniques including nasal titanium implants which aid breathing and incisionless ear pinning. Mr Fayad also has extensive experience (adults and children) of diagnosing and treating a wide range of ENT medical conditions including: snoring and sleep disorders, vertigo and balance issues as well as general conditions of the ear, nose and throat. In addition to his private practice, Mr Fayad is the lead rhinologist and chairman of the ENT department at the Basildon and Thurrock NHS University Hospitals. Mr Fayad is responsible for the allergy clinic at Basildon Hospital where they led the way in establishing a multidisciplinary unit for dealing with patients suffering from combinations of nasal polyps, allergies and asthma. The Unit is the first one to offer cures to conditions rather than simply treating them.
