I am licensed in TX and NV. My ideal client would be one that is seeking help in dealing with issues of grief and depression. This client would present with symptoms of depression secondary to a recent loss (usually death of a loved one). The client is provided a safe place to vent their emotions and provided guidance in identifying the stages of grief and loss as well as guidance on how to handle their emotions while still being a productive member of society in their respective stage of life. The client would be open to any advice or skills that I would want to bestow on them, that will help them overcome these issues.I can first help by offering a safe, comfortable place where the client can process their emotions as well as their thoughts about their recent loss. This is done through empathy and psychoeducation in that the client is welcomed, affirmed, and given the time, and safe place to vent.Losing a loved one in life can be one of the most difficult things we may have to encounter. Right now, we have no rules, other than to react in a healthy way. If you need to cry, I want you to cry, if you need to be angry I want you to tell me why you are angry and at whom. If you are having feelings of guilt, I want to be there to help you overcome it.
