Thank you for taking the time to check me out. I hope I can give you an idea here about how I work that will help you to decide whether counselling is something you will take on at this time, and whether you feel I can help you further. There are many reasons people come to counselling. Sometimes you have worries or concerns that can seem so overwhelming that it really helps to talk them out; sometimes you need to understand aspects of your past that seem to be getting in the way of present day life; sometimes it feels that you are battling with thoughts, or behaviours, that don't feel right; sometimes life seems to stop in its' tracks when we face the devastating loss of someone we love. It may also be that you have reached a point in life where you want to develop yourself beyond your current attainments. How I would help I offer a safe, warm, confidential and non-judgemental approach, either in my home consulting room, or since the onset of Covid, more usually via Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp, Facetime or phone.  I am a humanistic, integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and believe that the relationship between myself and, you, the client, is at the heart of you experiencing therapeutic benefit from counselling. I would usually suggest that we have a session to establish whether we feel we could work together. We would initially explore what brought you to counselling at this point in your life, and what approach would be most beneficial. If we decided to continue, I would normally suggest 6 weekly sessions as being the sort of time frame to allow us to get our teeth into an issue. Nowadays, I most usually work one to one with individuals, and we meet virtually  via Zoom, or whatever method suits you  . Hopefully, I will start seeing clients in my consulting room again when the Covid risk is sufficiently lowered. Issues I have worked with Some of the typical issues that people are trying to deal with are anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, low self-esteem, anger management, relationship issues, sexual issues, identity issues, career achievement and development, domestic violence, abuse, self-harm and addictions.
