A dedicated Hand Occupational Therapist of 20 years experience. Specialising in hand therapy in 2000 gaining Accreditation as a Hand Therapist in 2003 from the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) and MSc Hand Therapy 2013. Current roles include working at the Derby Pulvertaft Hand Centre (NHS), Hand Occupational Therapist within the private sector and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in medical and operational roles. Clinical experiences are focused on a wide range of complex and routine upper limb and hand patients of all ages with diverse presentations, multiple pathologies and conditions. Provides rehabilitation for both acute and chronic conditions caused by trauma, surgery or disease i.e. fractures, tendon and nerve repairs and elective surgery. She also treats arthritic and neurological conditions. With a background in sport, clinically wise has a huge passion and interest in sports related injuries, fractures and soft tissue injuries. Over the years, working within amateur and professional sports, acquiring skills to adapt and develop custom made splints (thermoplastic and neoprene) and prefabricated to enhance functional return to activity.
