Since 2002, I have been a qualified social worker and an Independent Best Interest Assessor for DoLS in North-West England, completing over 2500 individual cases in that time. By observing guidelines in section 4 (7) of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005. I also observe guidance under paragraph 4.58 of the DOLS Code of Practice that accompanies the MCA 2005. As an Independent social worker, I have completed Court of Protection reports. These reports included capacity and best interest assessments. As of 2022, I am an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)
