MIRPM AssocRICS Property Manager since 1997. Block Management. I started out as a dental nurse when I left school at 16. I moved to The UAE in 1998 and got into property management when I started helping out with the rental & management of commercial units for the first company I worked for in Dubai. I went on to manage a mixed use tower block on Sheikh Zayed road and Villas; employed directly by the owner. I then worked for the BurJuman Centre shopping mall as a consultant to the owner on phase 2 of the extended shopping mall. I advised on the construction and rental of the commercial and residential properties being built at that time. I was then promoted to leasing the manager of a new shopping mall separate to that project. I left Dubai and moved back to London in 2003. I worked as senior PM for a small company in Pimlico and then moved to County Estate Management in 2004 as a senior PM. I've worked there for 17 years, through the takeovers, a stint working in property management compliance for two years, and then back to frontline Property Management. CEM was taken over, of course, and, through rebranding I eventually worked for the FirstPort brand. In 2019 I was awarded probably the most smile inducing honour of my career when, unexpectedly, I got nominated for the award of property manager of the year in the NOTB property management top 50. I still don’t know who nominated ! In March 2022 I made a leap for a new challenge. I joined R&R as a Senior PM working on large residential and mixed use developments in West London. I went back to FirstPort in 2023 and that’s where I intend to stay! Love my job and love FirstPort. I’m a Regional Manager now, firstly in the Large & Complex team and then I chose to move to London Property services in July 2024, managing a team of 9 Property Managers. I have a particular interest in H&S compliance, enjoy learning about property legislation and love the world of property management generally!
