I came to the UK when I was 4 years old, and grew up here, I attended Blue Bell hill junior school then went onto pierrepont school for for 1year then it merged with Manvers boys school, I was then told I lived out of their catchment so moved to Arnold Girls School. After completing school I went to Basford Hall college and completed my O levels, then went on to People's college and completed my A levels. I then got married had children and ran an off license. I later joined the Asian Women's project and started to build my portfolio of experiences. I have completed a counselling foundation degree & an adult education certificate at the Nottingham Trent University. I worked at The Alcohol problems Advisory Service and part time at Derby Rape Crisis. I then left due to funding cuts and joined the Nottingham City council Social Services as an OT assistance, I loved this work and decided to study further . I am currently an OT in a community setting working with all ages, however, a large percentage of elderly patients. I hope to continue this work until I retire .
