Hi, my name’s Ayo. I provide short and long-term therapy to young people and adults in a space that is completely safe and non-judgmental. My practice is LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent-affirming and inclusive of all creeds and colours. Being a person of colour myself, I understand the importance of cultural competence, of having someone understand your unique cultural background, and can ensure this is what you will be met with at all times. My years of training as a psychotherapist are complemented by my work as a domestic abuse (DA) specialist. I work with both victims and perpetrators and bring a nuanced, yet practical understanding of DA be it verbal, physical, emotional, coercive control, sexual, financial, stalking and harassment. A degree in social anthropology, further training in family therapy and global mental health also mean that, as well as relationships, I’m particularly sensitive to the role culture and society play when it comes to mental health and seek as much as possible to consider these broader systemic factors.Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in journalism and TV production. I bring a gentle curiosity to sessions that encourages clients to tell their story - something I see as being central to the therapeutic process.
