My specialism is neurological rehabilitation and I have been practicing in this area for over 10 years now. Within this area of practice I have found it especially interesting and rewarding to work with clients with mental health diagnoses and functional disorders. This has also allowed me to learn from and work alongside some exceptional psychologists and neuropsychiatrists. My time at the Wellington Hospital gave me the opportunity to gain training and experience in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, more complex posture and seating needs and rehabilitation for lower limb amputation. A holistic and client-centred approach is an occupational therapy value that I hold to strongly and deem essential to practice. My broad range of experience assists in this greatly, as well as years of working closely within multi-disciplinary teams. Currently I am enjoying taking on private OT work in line with these interests, alongside working in oncology, which has been extremely rewarding.
