Dr. Anjali S. Vekaria is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in hair loss and general dermatology. As the founder of Lumera Dermatology, she is dedicated to providing personalized care to her patients. Dr. Vekaria graduated locally from Milton High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, followed by a research fellowship at Mount Sinai, where she oversaw over 40 clinical trials focused on skin conditions, including alopecia areata, eczema, and psoriasis. During this time, she also authored several peer-reviewed articles in her field. She completed her dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, serving as chief resident during her final year. To further hone her expertise, Dr. Vekaria pursued a specialized hair fellowship at the renowned Donovan Hair Clinic. After eight years in New York City, she returned to Alpharetta, Georgia, to be closer to family and friends. Dr. Vekaria is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Her expertise has been highlighted in numerous editorial publications, including USA Today and HuffPost. In her spare time, Dr. Vekaria enjoys balancing her role as a mother to three little ones with her passion for yoga and barre. She also loves participating in local Alpharetta events and traveling with her husband whenever possible.
