Dr Tometzki is one of the most senior congenital cardiologists in the South West of England and is based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children with over 22 years experience as a consultant in Congenital Cardiology. He was trained in Killingbeck Hospital Leeds, Yorkhill Hospital Glasgow, Alder Hey Hospital Liverpool, Edinburgh Hospital for Sick Children & University of California San Francisco. He sees childen and young adults with all aspects of acquired and congenital heart disease. Dr Tometzkis main expertise lies within the field of interventional cardiac catheterisation including balloon valvuloplasty, PDA and ASD closure. He also has expertise in fetal cardiology, where babies hearts can be scanned prior birth usually from around 18 weeks gestation. He conducts both transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography (ultrasound scans for the heart). Dr Tometzki holds regional and national leadership roles in the field of Congenital Heart Services including Clinical Chair of the NHSE Clinical Reference Group for Congenital Heart Services. He is a national award holder for Clinical Excellence for services to the NHS.
