I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. I started my career in Havana, Cuba where I obtained a doctorate degree in medicine in 2007. That same year, I relocated to the US where I continued my studies and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio in 2017 and dual certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner in 2023. Being raised in a family of doctors and nurses, loving science and caring for people encourages me to follow this pathway.I am very passionate to deliver exceptional and compassionate care for the most important reason of patient satisfaction and wellbeing. I am devoted to my patients and their most important needs reason why I based each interaction on a mutual understanding of my patient’s physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs. If you are a person who suffers from hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, cancer and some other chronic medical issues and you are struggling to cope, you feel hopeless, anxious and emotionally unstable, I am the right person to help you. I work with adults and elderlies and my specialties include anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, sleep-wake disorders, and women’s issues among others.It is all about your needs. I provide comprehensive screening tools; incorporate psychoeducation, along with a detailed evaluation to assess the need for pharmacologic treatment if that is what is best for you. I follow an eclectic approach since I am able to adapt to the unique needs of each patient and customize the therapeutic process for each individual depending on their problems, the treatment goals, and the person’s expectations and motivation. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan to help you feel better. I provide an environment where you are heard, understood and acknowledged.
