Alex Clavijo, MD, is a practicing Obstetrician and Gynecologist in the Clearwater area. After growing up in suburban Atlanta, he moved to New York City to attend undergraduate at NYU, where he studied anthropology and chemistry. He attended the University of Virginia for medical school and then moved out west to El Paso, Texas to complete his residency in OB/GYN. During training, he led projects to decrease blood loss during delivery, learned patience for labor, and practiced his Spanish. He was an active participant in the Texas American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His special interests include both low and high-risk pregnancies, ultrasound, abnormal uterine bleeding, and minimally invasive surgery including robotics. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and tuxedo cat, Benny, as well as doing anything outside including biking, running, kayaking, or spending time at the beach. He is so excited to explore the Tampa Bay area! He also loves to cook and make homemade sourdough bread.
