• Developed 4 West Quick Access Site on SharePoint to improve efficiency of nurses ability to access frequently used MCM, RITS specific policies, frequently used documents, education etc. This site was specifically identified on CARF survey as technological advantage over paper binder. • Self-directed unit champion to ensure unit is compliant with facility policy and procedures • Works on the CAUTI team. Assisted with establishing an inpatient bladder management protocol. CAUTI champion on 4W. Participated on Nursing Documentation committee, Spud committee, and currently an active participant on the Women Veterans Committee, Falls Committee and lead unit huddle board discussions. • Monitors orders, diagnostic laboratory studies, consultations, therapies, notify and acts on orders from providers to change plans of care when appropriate • Identifies long term needs of patients past discharge to prevent re-hospitalization and future debility • Provide care for rehab patients with CVAs, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, orthopedic surgery, cardiac and debility. Provide care for medicine patients to include floating to units with telemetry and post-operative surgery patients. • Work with multidisciplinary team to plan patient care to promote patient centered health care and, when appropriate family participation in care. Evaluates needs of the patient and or family to coordinate services to meet those needs • Performed duties of charge nurse to include conflict management, assignments, resource and unit supervision • Strong nursing skills with IV starts, lab draws, PICC line maintenance, wound care, communicating to providers and assisting providers with bedside procedures • Prepare patients for GI procedures to include patients with spinal cord injuries. Recover patients from Endoscopy, IR, PACU • Preceptor for nursing students and new employees educates off tour staff on changes affecting the unit.
