Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a physician. At age 4, I was well known among my friends to “cure” their cuts and bruises with various “treatments” made up of leaves, creams and glitter! From a very early age, I fell in love with Medicine and have never looked back. I attended Medical School at the University of Arkansas, after my family was transferred there in 1991. From there, I came to Philadelphia for my Residency in Internal Medicine as well as Geriatrics Fellowship at Temple University Hospital. I worked as a Hospitalist at Hahnemann University where I was also responsible for teaching both Medical students and young trainees on becoming an Internist. While I found those responsibilities both challenging and rewarding, I always wanted to work in an outpatient setting, caring and developing relationships with patients over long periods of time. It is this aspect of Medicine that I find the most rewarding, and one of the main reasons of why I practice Internal Medicine. I could not imagine doing anything else.show more
