I currently have 14 years of experience as an occupational therapist. I have a keen interest and passion for children and have thus focused my education and experience in this area. This passion emerged before starting my studies as a few of my close family members experienced developmental difficulties. Therefore I was exposed at an early stage to various therapies and needs of children with difficulties. My enthusiasm for this field was further reinforced as I started my studies and gained experience with a wider range of diverse disorders and needs. I have specialized in sensory integration and have additional diploma's such as therapeutic listening. As well as this, I have worked in a supervisory role over seeing junior therapists. I have a wide range on experience from acute hospital work to private practice, children's homes/adoption sector and schools (both mainstream and special needs) seeing diagnoses such as developmental delay, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder, cererbral palsy, downs syndrome, learning difficulties, HIV related delays, dyspraxia, dyslexia and more. I look forward to further impacting the future generations.
