Vinod Achan is a general and interventional cardiologist at Frimley Park Hospital who manages all aspects of cardiovascular disease. He played a key role in developing local invasive cardiology services, in particular he implanted the first pacemaker and was one of two operators performing the first coronary angioplasty at Frimley Park Hospital in 2007. He is also the lead consultant for emergency or primary angioplasty at Frimley Park Hospital which is now a regional heart attack centre. He qualified in 1993 from Oxford University, where he was ranked first in his year, and was a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University in California where he did research on cardiovascular injury.
