Dr. Mandhare is the founder and medical director of Wake Spine & Pain Specialists. Dr. Mandhare was born and raised in Louisiana, where he completed his medical school and internship. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Washington, ranked among the leading academic departments in the country, where pain management originated as a specialty. He further pursued an ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Pain Management at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. This fellowship is recognized as the highest standard in the country for the field of pain management. Dr. Mandhare’s introduction to pain started well before his training while he was in medical school. His father was diagnosed with cancer during his medical school and he saw the first-hand how pain affected a person physically, psychologically and socially. This experience made him decide to dedicate his career to the alleviation of pain. Dr. Mandhare worked in both very large and small pain management practices. During his experience both professionally and personally, he noticed the best outcomes in smaller, more personal settings, where there was an emphasis on the bio-psycho-social model of pain. With this experience, he founded WSPS with the goal to provide very personable, patient-centric care that addresses all aspects of a patient’s pain.
