At Yeshiva University I work closely with the Provost and manage a wide range of academic activities, such as policy development, strategic planning, and curricular oversight. I serve as the University's CEO Designee to the New York State Education Department and represent YU in accreditation matters involving Middle States as Accreditation Liaison Officer and as a member of the MSCHE Substantive Change Committee. I work with the deans and University administrators of non-academic operations to advance University priorities. As one of the four members of the IT Executive Committee, I also coordinate the efforts of the Office of Academic Affairs with the Office of Communications and Information Technology Services. Previously, I served as Acting Director of Marketing and Communications at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. CUNY SPS is the home of CUNY's first online degree programs, serving the needs of adult students seeking to complete their undergraduate education or to earn advanced professional credentials through certificates or graduate degrees. I began my University of Southern Maine position in September 2008, after having served as Research and Program Development Director at the City University of New York (CUNY). Before that, I was Chair of the English Department at John Jay College, CUNY, where I had earned tenure and worked from 1985. My USM position first involved managing the University's new strategic planning process and subsequently a wide variety of other assignments, including redesign of the university's academic structure, consolidating seven schools and colleges into five. I managed the university's UMS Strategic Investment Fund process as well as developed proposals for institutional grants. I also managed the trial of a new economic impact metric that is part of APLU's CICEP project, and I served on the Economic and Workforce Development Task Force of AASCU's Grants Resource Center.
