I am a New Zealander, and completed most of my urology training in NZ where I worked for a year with the team that invented and developed holmium laser prostate surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), is the most well researched and sophisticated laser treatment for male lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH, It is also the only laser prostate technique recommended by NICE for use in the UK. I am the most experienced HoLEP surgeon in the UK, having performed more than 1000 HoLEP procedures. I have mentored a number of consultants in HoLEP, and have demonstrated and lectured on HoLEP at a number of meetings in the UK and abroad.
