Description

#ResilientNursesRockTheBoat Educator, Leader, & Scientist with 37+ years of professional nursing experience in both clinical and academic settings, with primary focus on Resilience, specifically as a tool to radically and positively disrupt systems to promote professional quality of life and personal well-being. I am devoted to the nurturing and development of resilient teams via compassionate courage toward Pedagogical Wellness within the academic setting. I am the Founder of RN P.R.E.P. (Personal Resilience Enhancement Plan), an interactive and evidence-based program designed to promote professional quality of life, enhanced well-being, and prevent burnout/moral distress. My resilience research extends to all healthcare professionals, including students, for the benefit of the individual, the interprofessional team, and the patients/clients we serve. Much of this work is based on the narratives of Holocaust survivors. I believe I have the responsibility to lead students by example, as a responsible citizen in the classroom, practice setting, and community, specifically modeling values-based leadership, innovation, compassion, humility, and courage. It is my desire to assist faculty and students in realizing their potential as individuals and professionals and embracing their ability to take control of their lives and careers through a resilient mindset. For myself, I desire to contribute to a healthy work environment, positively promote values-based teamwork and collaboration, and promote distributed and authentic leadership, while continuing to advance my own knowledge and spiritual growth.
