During my educational path, having the pleasure to work in a variety of settings. Working within hospitals and community based settings, Doncaster Royal Infirmary from Orthopaedics and Trauma wards to theatre Recovery and respiratory wards at Northern General. Learning new communicational skills, professional skills and working as part of a MDT. Developing new communicational skills each day, in a variety of situations and environments. Multitasking assignments, placements of 40-48 hours each week and family life. I developed excellent timekeeping, multitasking and professional conduct skills. Currently working in a nursing home, full time nights I have gained more essential experiences of the care environment and further challenging communication skills. Gaining further experience working with a variety of age ranges, assessing individuals with complex needs and planning care; this has been imperative during my learning. Gaining the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively for the best outcome and working as part as a multidisciplinary team. From a personal perspective, the experiences have taught me how to remain professional whilst expressing myself openly. The skills I have gained are transferable into many settings working with individuals. Transferring these skills in to providing an excellent customer service. Task focused to use my time efficiently. Prior to starting university, I attended Doncaster College to gain the qualifications required whilst volunteering at a residential nursing home and hospice. Before Doncaster College, becoming a mother of two children I chose to stay at home through their early years. Spending these years caring and enjoying all those precious moments, teaching them the skills needed to develop.
