Mr Tanweer Ashraf is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Knee Surgery. He is based in Birmingham and currently sees private patients at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, The Edgbaston Hospital and Ramsay West Midlands Hospital. He also serves at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Birmingham, a major trauma centre.He completed his medical degree at Aligarh Muslim University, India in 1991 before moving to the UK in 1994. In 1995, he began his specialist orthopaedic registrar training in Birmingham followed by a specialist fellowship in knee surgery at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. Mr Ashraf also holds a Master’s degree in Orthopaedic Engineering and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001.Mr Ashraf was appointed as a Consultant in 2005 and since then has developed an extensive wealth of experience in managing various knee-related conditions. In his current clinical practice, he offers a comprehensive range of treatments including: partial and total knee replacement, patellar realignment and replacement, meniscal repair and arthroscopy. He also has expertise in knee ligament repair and reconstruction (including ACL and PCL), meniscus surgery, cartilage replacement and regeneration, kneecap stabilisation, trochleoplasty, TT transfer, osteotomy and stem cell treatment. Mr Ashraf and his team strive to deliver the highest level of care to their patients. He works closely with dedicated physiotherapists, acknowledging that surgery may not always be the most suitable treatment.
