25 years of clinical experience, specialising as a primary care Nurse Practitioner (NP). I am the Clinical Director, practice owner and Nurse Practitioner at Kingsland Family Health Centre, a small to medium inner-city general practice. In the last five years, I've primarily worked in general practice in south Auckland and was the first NP in the Greencross network to partner in general practice. I have also served as the clinical director for Te Puna Manawa HealthWEST, a Maori Health provider with child, youth and whanau contracts throughout Auckland. I began my career in acute care roles in large public hospitals in Aotearoa and the UK. I then transitioned to senior nurse roles in education, clinical teaching, and research, working across the public and private healthcare sectors, NGO, primary and community care. A drive to serve underserved communities led me to become an NP. As an NP, I have worked clinically in prisons, schools, marae clinics, youth health services, residential rehabilitation and general practice. I have demonstrated leadership capabilities throughout my career, leading and teaching clinically. I am a skilled collaborator and work well with other clinicians, and I embody the leadership attributes of courage, resilience, determination, and team-building in my work across disciplines. Outside work, I maintain a healthy and active lifestyle through ocean swimming, paddle-boarding, daily running and yoga practice. My most important work to date is raising my three amazing children, which is a work in progress!
