A second year pharmacology student with a plethora of laboratory experience, currently looking for internships and placements in a biomedical laboratory. Being a full time student, as well as working at a pharmacy on weekends and successfully running my own cake business (@cakeables) have taught me critical transferable skills such as time management, financial forecasting and attention to detail. My passion for science and biochemistry has led me to trialling recipes in the same way novel therapeutics are discovered in research and patient samples are examined in a laboratory. As a GPhC Accredited Healthcare Assistant, I've been trained to identify contraindications in prescription drugs and recommend over the counter medicines based on a patient's symptoms, driven to personalise patient treatment in my role at the pharmacy - which are essential for working in a laboratory setting. I am excited to enter my third year of university and undertake a pharmacology research project on novel rheumatoid arthritis therapeutics.
