Sushil Deshmukh, DO is a native of Connecticut and completed most of his education on the East Coast. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his Bachelors in the Biological Basis of Behavior. He later completed his Masters in Medical Science at Boston University and then moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he complete his Medical Degree at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Deshmukh completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Broward General Hospital, and Nephrology Fellowship at Georgetown University. Dr. Deshmukh has held numerous positions in leadership and education, with the goal of applying them to patient care. Dr. Deshmukh strongly believes patient education and a sense of partnership are important parts of patient care. It is his goal to work together with his patients to make important medical decisions, which can only happen when patients understand what is going on with their body and he understands who his patient is as a person. Dr. Deshmukh decided to settle in Portland, Oregon because it’s a place he is happy to call home. He appreciates the sense of friendship and community in the Pacific Northwest that cannot be found anywhere else in the country. He enjoys spending time in the beautiful outdoors and the local culinary scene.
