For the last twenty years of my nursing career I worked as a specialist in sexual health, so saw first hand the impact of sexual trauma and people working through their thoughts around sexual or gender identity. Additionally I was alongside people dealing with the impact of sexual infections, including HIV. It was my work as a specialist nurse that prompted me to train initially as a person-centred therapist working with individuals. I later gained a Masters degree in relationships therapy, whilst my most recent training is in psychosexual therapy.
