Birgit is an Occupational Therapist by background with 22 years’ experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury and complex needs arising from both physical and cognitive impairments. She has worked with a variety of clients at various stages of recovery and rehabilitation. Birgit has extensive knowledge, understanding and expertise in assessment, therapeutic interventions, goal setting and attainment plus planning of rehabilitation, as well as risk assessment and management. Birgit has worked as part of small and large multidisciplinary teams and is experienced in facilitating and leading teams as well as coordinating rehabilitation. Birgit has lectured to undergraduate and post graduate Occupational Therapists nationally for a number of years, presented at conferences and written for a national magazine. Birgit brings her experience and knowledge of working in various clinical (acute, rehabilitation and community) and non-clinical settings to her work as an Ot as well as a Case Manager.
