I am the NHS England clinical lead for Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) in the North of England. In addition I am the national lead for the IRIS Early Intervention in Psychosis Network, a group of mental health experts who have supported the promotion of EIP since the 1990s. I co-authored the Centre for Mental Health Early Intervention guide ‘A Window of Opportunity’ and I am a member of the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health EIP Expert Reference Group. As a member of IRIS I have contributed chapters to a number of publications and supported the development of the WHO International Early Psychosis Declaration. I have published guidance for Suicide Risk Management in Early Intervention and I am currently the coordinating investigator for a research study examining the link between fidelity and outcomes in EIP teams in the UK and Canada. IRIS publishes a best practice toolkit for Early Intervention in Psychosis, the first edition of which was the basis of the original national Policy Implementation Guide for Early Intervention in Psychosis in the UK.
