About me: I have over 15 years experience working as a Psychologist in various settings in the NHS. A BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy practitioner, I specialise in providing skills-based approaches to help manage emotions, to cope with challenging events and adverse life experiences. I am familiar with managing longstanding, complex difficulties, sometimes relating to childhood trauma and emotional deprivation as well as common problems resulting from work and life stressors. I work with a range of disorders including depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias and generalised anxiety disorder. I treat interpersonal problems, loss and transitions of various kinds, both personal and work-related. I keep up to date with the latest developments in treating psychological difficulties and I am trained in Third Wave approaches that have a growing evidence base, such as Metacognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy.
