Mr Srijit Banerjee is a Consultant Urologist at Darent Valley Hospital and The London Bridge Hospital. He specialises in general urology with a notable focus on renal stone disease and lower urinary tract dysfunction. Graduating with his foundational medical degree in India in 2002, he proceeded to undergo specialised training in the North London Deanery as a specialist registrar. His tenure included significant stints at esteemed institutions such as The Royal Marsden and St Barts Hospital. He later completed research on the enhanced recovery of bladder cancer patients and was awarded his MD for his work by the University of East Anglia. Mr Banerjees adeptness extends to a wide array of procedures, including rigid and flexible ureteroscopies, laser stone fragmentation, and surgical interventions addressing urinary symptoms like TURP and intravesical Botox. He displays a pronounced interest in cancer diagnostics, particularly focused on patients with elevated PSA levels and those requiring treatment for haematuria and superficial bladder cancer. Notably, he provides cutting-edge MRI fusion biopsy of the prostate for enhanced cancer detection. His surgical expertise extends to various open and penoscrotal surgeries, including procedures such as hydrocele repair, phimosis treatment, and vasectomy. Within his local hospital, Mr Banerjee is the Lead for BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) and has been instrumental in establishing a local multidisciplinary team for urodynamics.
