Extensive working knowledge and strategic skills, valued within the NHS from a primary care perspective. Key skills from a degree in pharmacy, Masters in Public Health and management at a senior NHS level. My Role requires working with various external stakeholders of the NHS including the acute , community services, Public Health and the Mental Health trust sector. Expertise in medicines optimisation through-formulary management, CCG commissioned high cost drugs PBR excluded, contracting, horizon scanning, NICE, and introduction of new medicines through critical appraisal. Provide expert advice to commissioners on evidence base medicine, financial impact and strategy for safe introduction depending upon the project. My current role with CCGs is enjoyable and challenging, working at a senior level of decision making with primary and secondary care managers, medical and non-medical prescribers, consultants, contracting, finance and specialists. My attraction to the role is its recognised as requiring a high level of autonomy, independent thinking and freedom to deal with the ever-changing landscape of the NHS.
