My name is Sivia Castro and I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern. I provide services in English & Spanish. I accept ages 16 and over. My primary objective as a counselor is to establish a supportive and non-judgmental space where my clients can feel safe to be themselves. I aim to create a space where my clients feel like they can openly share and explore their concerns. My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that each person is uniquely different. So I strive to provide a personalized approach based on my client’s needs.Some of the treatment modalities I use to achieve this include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, family systems theory, attachment theory, and internal family systems. I also like to incorporate inner child work and expressive arts into my sessions with clients when appropriate.I currently hold a B.A. in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am also trained in the Gottman method couples therapy (level I and level II). I am currently working towards becoming fully licensed as a clinical mental health counselor in the state of Florida.
