Dr. Shakar joined the AdventHealth transplant team from the cardiology division at the University of Colorado Denver, where he served as the Director of heart failure services and was an associate professor in the department of medicine. He specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. Prior to working at the University of Colorado Denver, he served as Chief Medical Resident and physician at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
