I have had a long and successful career as a Clinician, Trainer, Educator, Consultant Psychiatrist in Medical Psychotherapy and Leader in Mental Health Services in the UK and Ireland. I worked for much of my professional life in helping individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder to manage their lives better while continuing to develop in their roles as individuals, friends, partners, parents, and as professional and productive workers. Throughout my career I delivered a balanced and a varied portfolio of: 1. Psychotherapeutic Clinical Work with individuals, couples and families 2. Invited talks, lectures and workshops on the Applications of the Neurosciences to Psychotherapy Practice 3. Trainings to promote understanding and therapeutic clinical work with children and families, young people and adults with serious mental health and emotional difficulties 4. Consultancy on effective Service User and Carer Involvement in service planning, development, delivery, evaluation and evolution 5. Consultancy on effective, outcome focused, developmental clinical work with individuals with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder 6. Reflective Practice Opportunities for staff working with individuals with mental illnesses in inpatient and community settings I continue to learn from the patients, families and professional colleagues I work alongside.
