Shihabudheen Vellarethodi is a qualified medical physicist with more than 12 years of cross functional experience in therapeutic and diagnostic applications of radiation in medicine. He began his career in 2009 as a clinical medical physicist with Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Center, India. Later he joined International Oncology Services Pvt Limited, India. After leaving India in 2014, he worked at Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah for seven years abefore moving to Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital. He is actively involved in radiotherapy treatment of patients suffering from various cancers and is well versed in complex radiotherapy treatment techniques such as intensity modulated radiotherapy, volumetric modulated radiotherapy, stereotactic radio surgery, brachytherapy etc. He also served as a faculty for the medical physics residency and adiotherapy technology program.
