It takes courage to come to therapy and most people do so when life seems unbearable. Others come because they want to grow in some way and believe therapy can make a difference in their lives. My ideal client is someone who is self-motivated and ready to "work" in therapy. I work with men, women and older adolescents. I work best with individuals who are ready for positive changes in their lives and who want to improve the quality of their life and their relationships.My specialty areas include sexual disorders, dysfunctions and general issues concerning sexuality. I also work with a number of LGBTQIA clients, compulsive eaters and substance abusers. I have been in recovery for over 30 years. My other specialty is couple's therapy. I also do general psychotherapy with issues such as depression, loss, trauma and anxiety.Having had therapy myself, I understand what it is like to meet someone for the first time and discuss some of the most intimate issues of your life. I know that a person is capable of making significant changes in their life if he or she is willing, open and ready to take responsibility for the life they have been given.
