A proud Specialist Occupational Therapist. Studying MSc Advancing Healthcare Practice. Passionate to improve holistic interventions for older people. My Professional Summery I am currently working in an Older Person community rehabilitation clinic and supporting the falls prevention service, where I get to focus on adaptations, social isolation, relaxation, hand therapy and much more. True, holistic OT work! Prior to this I completed my Band 5 Community Rotation. I enjoyed my time instilling maximum independence and prioritising goals within a palliative care setting, and managed many complex cases and developed group facilitation skills within Older Persons Mental Health. Working in a community rehabilitation hospital and then community maximised my skills in complex manual handling, supporting safe discharges and ending 'PJ Parlaysis'. I proritised the importance of occupational balance and personalised goal setting. I am widening my skill set everyday and growing in confidence in the many specialities within the Occupational Therapy profession. Currently, I am doing a Master's Degree through the Open University in Advancing Health Care Practice as I am passionate in improving our health service, for the sake of patients and staff satisfaction. What can I bring to a team? I am a hugely motivated individual with a strong work ethic. Being organised is extremely important to me and am a passionate problem solver. I have been described by others as being a good team leader, but also relish when working in a team. I have been commended on my ability to use both verbal, and non-verbal communication, which I believe is key when working with vulnerable service users. Who am I? A work-life balance is hugely important to me. I am hugely interested in all things crafty, mainly making my own jewellery and hair accessories and love playing netball! Spending time with my friends and family is greatly important to me and I always take thrill from new experiences.
