I have worked within the NHS since 1998. I qualified as an occupational therapist in 2009 and have worked within a range of OT settings but have specialised over the years within neurology, neuro-rehab and neuro-psychiatry. I have worked as an associate occupational therapist since 2017. I provide private occupational therapy services to clients with a wide range of illnesses and injuries, including brain injuries and orthopaedic injuries. I also worked up until this year as a Senior Occupational Therapist working in an NHS Neuro-psychiatry service based within the community and on a neuro-behavioural unit. My role involved working with clients with a wide range of physical, psychiatric, and psychological symptoms because of a neurological injury or illness. Within this role I assessed, treated, and provided complex treatment plans to achieve safety and independence in fulfilling and meaningful activities and occupations. Prior to this I worked on a Neurology & Neurological Surgical ward within a Major Trauma Centre. As an independent OT, I provide goal orientated and client focused assessments and rehabilitation programmes. I specialise in neurological rehabilitation, working collaboratively with family members and carers to help increase the client's functional independence and overall quality of life. I work in all community settings from homes, schools, colleges, workplaces and social environments to ensure that my clients are achieving their maximum potential.
