I have been working with the geriatric population for over 22 years across the care continuum promoting healthy aging, functional health, management of chronic conditions, palliative care and end of life planning. I have worked in various health care settings; oncology, medical surgical, emergency room, and long term care. I discovered that providing care to older adults who tend to have complicated and overlapping health problems and needs is highly challenging, exciting, and rewarding. I love working with the geriatric population, this is something I really enjoy, In fact, the more I do it, the more I enjoy it. What I love most about my work are the relationships I establish with patients and their families and the differences I can make in their lives. Professional Interests I have a professional and personal interest in palliative, dementia care, and leadership. I enjoy palliative and dementia care, because the goal is not to cure, but to provide comfort and maintain the highest possible quality of life for as long as life remains. Leadership is vital because organizations take on the personality of their leaders and can maximize productivity, shape a positive culture and promote harmony.
