I am a highly experienced occupational therapist. I apply expert knowledge, perform comprehensive assessments & devise goal-focused rehabilitation & treatment programmes, predominantly for neurologically-impaired clients. I enjoy the challenge of working with this complex client group and have skills in areas including upper limb rehabilitation, cognitive/visual-perceptual skills rehabilitation, postural management and seating, complex moving and handling and for people wanting to return to work. I build effective therapeutic relationships with my clients, family members and other professional colleagues to ensure goals and purposeful outcomes can be achieved via a collaborative approach. I have experience working within the medico-legal framework as both a treating OT clinician via my independent practice OT Guru Ltd, and as a brain injury/catastrophic injury case manager. I maintain my professional development via involvement with peers, and attending courses and conferences. I was previously the Regional Lead for the Eastern region for the Royal College of OT Specialist Section in Independent Practice, which involved facilitating networking and developing training & support for OT colleagues. I can provide clinical supervision and mentoring to other OTs and rehabilitation assistants.
