About Roz Sambrook-SmithI am a fully qualified Tavistock trained psychotherapist working with children, young people and families. My experience includes working in primary and secondary schools as well as clinic based long-term and time-limited work on an individual 1-1 basis either in person, online or by phone. I also work with groups of children and parents/carers on various therapeutic programmes.I have experience working with children and adolescents (boys and girls) who have ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), and I have worked with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicide ideations, gender and sexuality confusion, panic attacks, eating conditions and body dysmorphia in the context, with some clients, of fragmented home lives, domestic violence related trauma and severe historic neglect. My core training was in psychodynamic psychotherapy although my approach is more integrative which allows me to adopt elements of other psychological therapies if considered suitable such as systemic therapy, trauma informed therapy, mindfulness, psycho-education and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
