As a Consulant Later Life Psychiatrist at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), I have over eight years of experience in delivering high-quality dementia diagnosis and treatment, using cutting-edge techniques such as fluid biomarkers, advanced neuroimaging, and personalised cognitive assessment. I also train and supervise practitioners in lumbar puncture and CSF-based diagnostics, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and patient-centred care. I am passionate about advancing dementia research and innovation, and I hold several leadership and academic roles that enable me to contribute to this field. I am the clinical director of the Greater Manchester Dementia Research Centre (GMDRC), where I lead and participate in multiple NIHR and industry-funded trials and cohort studies in dementia and depression. I am also the dementia theme lead for Health Innovation Manchester (HInM), Manchester's Academic Health Science Network, and a board member and dementia theme co-lead for the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre. Additionally, I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and the Greater Manchester NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) Division 4 lead for dementia. My current research interests include clinical prediction models, biomarkers, and machine learning in neuroimaging and neurodegenerative disease, as well as palliative care in dementia, and dementia diagnosis and care in LMICs and diaspora populations.
