Dr. Sandhu's main research focus is on arrhythmia health services research including gaining a better understanding of arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, syncope, and sudden cardiac death) epidemiology, identifying gaps in treatment and pursuing strategies to improve outcomes. Dr. Sandhu has received grants to support her research from University Hospital Foundation at the University of Alberta, Canadian Stroke Prevention Intervention Network, Cardiac Arrhythmia Network of Canada and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. She has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications, abstracts and book chapters in medical journals and textbooks. She has given more than 45 invited lectures on ICD implantation, syncope, and atrial fibrillation to local, regional, national and international audiences.
