I am a Psychosyntheis trained counsellor, a holistic approach that includes body, feeling and mind recognising not just the personal but also the spiritual. I have trained in systemic theory that helps unpack relational patterns and dynamics in the context of family. My own mixed race background informs my practice. I have a non-judgemental attitude towards people, their culture and its nuances, making me realise that there is no set formula to achieve a better life. What is important is that you draw on your socio-cultural context to find solutions that fit you and improve upon your life. It is challenging to integrate values of our culture of origin and those we presently live, in particular the stresses these create within families. I have worked with a number of mixed race and second generation clients from Indian, Pakistan and Bangladeshi back grounds.Having experienced the military and worked in faced paced finance sector I have a keen awareness to high degree of stress people are exposed to in their work environments. These insights have helped me support clients around stress, anxiety and panic attacks using coaching and mindfulness techniques.I have undertaken work at various LGBT charities and supported clients on a range of issue around sexuality, recreational drug addiction, HIV and AIDS.
