I have a background in media and arts, working as a professional broadcaster with the BBC, ITV Network and C4 and as a performance artist in the UK, Canada and US. For over twenty years I have worked in the NHS, as an advisor, senior manager and psychotherapist, my specialist area being Sexual Health and HIV medicine. I presently work part-time in a large London teaching hospital and have successful private practices in both Covent Garden and Bethnal Green. I am an integrative therapist, an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I freelance as a trainer and lecturer with particular interest in mindfulness and stress, gender, diversity, relationships, sex and sexualities - teaching healthcare professionals and providing tailored interventions for private companies. I teach on accredited courses in the UK including DFSS, STIF, DipGU, MSc (Couns Psy) and regularly work as a group facilitator specialising in interventions that focus on relationships, sexual behaviour and recreational drug use. I have been part of the SSHA team rolling out training across the UK in Motivational Interviewing for health professionals, to enable the implementation of the NICE guidelines within NHS sexual health services. I have published in therapeutic journals in both the UK and US, and contributed to magazines as diverse as Skin 2 and Positive Nation, as well as edited collections of psychological essays. I am a qualified supervisor of therapists following training at the Metanoia Institute.
